Idk but this is almost exactly what happened to me with my mom’s crosstrek right after I had to ditch my Challenger as it was imploding. Now I have a 2017 crosstrek with like 15k miles that is super reliable and easy to drive. Handles the drive up to Tahoe no problem, so that’s my benchmark.
