Thanks for the reply Viper. I'll just wait it out like you said. I'm actually only hydrating 4 out of the 5 bags of beads I have. I'm leaving one bag totally dry to absorb any excess moisture. And thanks for the help everybody. I feel better knowing my cigars are doing fine. This is a great...

The sticks in the bottom portion of the humi are in boxes with the lids removed. I keep a bunch of singles in the top drawer. I remove the cello from all my cigars before putting them in my humi. Never had a problem doing that in my desktop. I’ll add a small sponge tonight and see if that...

Are you serious? Do you think they're going to dry out? :0 Can I just add a bowl or two of water to boost up the RH? I don't want to ruin my sticks.

I have one hygro in the top drawer towards the front, and the other in the bottom compartment mounted on the left side, also towards the front. Should I move these further back maybe? And yes, the socket plate is in place. I didn make a few small door adjustments. the bottom was rubbing when I...

Hey guys. I was just gifted a Connoisseur from Cheaphumidors.com for my B-day. I kept 4 bowls of water in it for the first week or so (w/o cigars) to let it “season”. The RH went up to about 73%-74%. I calculated how many beads I would need from Vipers website and it came out to 1.1 lbs. I...

Cigarmony.com is now an Authorized Xikar Dealer!

Do you guys know if the Xikar lighter has a regular flame or is it a torch? Dom

You're right. Plus with the glass door you'd have to make sure all the racks, shelves, boxes & cigars are always neat since it's all viewable from the outside. I'm gonna go without the glass door option. Hopefully I don't have to wait to long to get it. Thanks everyone. Dom

Is there something you don't like about the glass door? I'm having a hard time trying to decide and I really want to order it. Dom

Swissy, how does it hold RH? Does the top drawer seal well? Dom

    The Connoisseur

I like the way the top opens like a regular desktop humi. I might go with the Trivola now. Dom

Very cool! I'm going to see what I can find out about that wireless hygrometer. Thanks again Nathan! Dom

Thanks Nathan. I e-mailed Dave and asked him the inside dimensions. Are there any cons to having a glass door? I think it should be okay as long as the humi is not in direct sunlight, right? I’d like to be able to check the RH without opening the door and letting all the humidity out every time...

Thanks for the link. According to the calculation on Viper’s site, I’ll need 1.7 pounds of beads. I’ll just round it up to 2 whole pounds. Also, I’m ready to order the humidor, just not sure if I should get the glass door or not. Anyone? These are the sticks I ordered last night. Nothing fancy...

Thanks for the welcome! I figured the beads were the best way to go. How many do you think I’d need for this humi? The dimensions are 22" W x 24" D x 28" H. Dom

Hey guys. I’m a newbie here but I’ve been lurking for a bit. I’ve been smoking cigars for about 6 months or so. I’m still searching for my favorite every day cigar. I just ordered a bunch of 5-er’s last night, maybe I’ll find something interesting. ;) Anyway, I want to buy a new humidor. I...
