That's the older style band. They've always burned ok for me. I also think you've just had a dud. Give them a a couple more trys and see how you like them.
A coworker of mine got me into cigars. He asked me one day at work if I wanted to go smoke some cigars with him and several other people. I said sure....he gave me a Gurkha Centurion and my wallet has been hating me ever since.

College in CA can do that to a young impressionable mind. I'm not knocking anyone with college degrees and I do believe a degree is important to have....but I couldn't stand college. Especially after having first served in the military. Major culture shock.
That's an awesome piece of work and I like the inlay. It's kind of hard to see how big or small that ashtray is though. Perhaps you can add a cigar to the picture next time???
