Does this look right, or should I be concerned?

Once you develop some relationships there are plenty of guys who will share sources. If you come here and you post looking for sources in your first month or 2 then most will be wary of you.

Does this look right, or should I be concerned?

If you have a legit source then you never have to worry about discrepancies with packaging. or how the cigars look. Cuban quality control sucks so there will always be weird looking boxes, labels and the like. Now if you do not trust your source then all bets are off and you do have to worry...

    Some New Fake Arrivals!

Guys, try and remember that Cuba has the worst quality control of any country making cigars. I have been in the Cohiba factory and the Partagas factory and let me tell you, they could care less about their cigars. If the vendor is legit and has a great rep then do not worry about things like...

    Cuban to smoke right away

Here is a rule of thumb I always went by, thinner, smaller and wrapper to filler ratio's. If the cigar is thinner and has a larger wrapper to filler ratio the cigar will not need as much time to taste good. Cigars that have a large percentage of filler need a lot of time for the tobacco to...

What's your worst cigar horror story?

It was 1998, me and a buddy put in a 12 box order from Switzerland from a guy we had been doing business with for over a year. Customs snspped the entire order and we never saw the cigars again, that sucked.

You couldn't pay me to drink that shit. Just goes to show how stupid some people are.

    Frustration/Venting

The guy who doesn't take 98% of asking price is a total moron. The realtor who didn't make him take it is obviously not a good one. If I were the realtor, I would have told the seller that he either takes your offer or he finds another realtor. I bet this guy ends up taking 75 grand less on...

    Tinderbox retail store...

Back around 1996 I had an empty store in my strip mall. I contacted Tinderbox to see how much a franchise would cost. The franchise fee back then was 25 grand. They made you buy about 250k worth of inventory and they took 5 percent off your gross sales. I ended up renting the space to someone so...

    RyJ A/T No. 2

There are many smokes in Tubes that are not cheap. Upmann Monarchs RyJ Churchills Punch Monarcas Cohiba Siglo II, VI Monte Tubos These are just some tubos that are far from cheap. The RyJ #2 A/T is a fantastic inexpensive tubo which is hand rolled. The nice thing about these is that...

    1 Year Wedding Anniversary Vacation

I have been to Aruba 4 times and my favorite restaurant is http://www.elgaucho-aruba.com/. Be very careful about how much sun you get. Aruba is very close to the equator and the sun is incredibly strong. You can burn the shit out of yourself in 1 hour. Make sure if you are lying at the beach...

    Air Cleaners for the Home?

Seavita, it doesn't surprise me about your RASS experiences. They are really bad when they are not aged properly.

    Ageing/Humidor - is it needed?

You definitely want to keep your cigars at 70 degrees or less and 60-65 percent humidity. I keep all my tubed cigars in their tubes with the cap on. If you cannot keep where you live at 70 degrees or less, then you will need a storage system that does this. The cheapest cooling system will be a...

    Is there a wine cooler

I agree that getting into the high 60's might be a problem if the apartment is at 90. If he cannot get into the high 60's then he needs to put the ac on in the apt. and get it into the mid 80's or what ever it takes to get the humi into the high 60's.

John, Ekert got his without the wine stuff. I'll pm you his number.

    Is this normal?

Most tobacconists keep their cigars at 70+ on the humidity scale. The reason being is that when people come into their stores almost everyone squeezes the cigars to see if they are fresh. If tobacconists kept their cigars where we like them.... low 60's, they would have tons of cracked cigars.

    Which one?

Definitely go for the Corona Major from Upmann. The RASS is a cigar that needs a minimum of 7-10 years before they are smokable. I had a box of 97 RASS that took a full 8 years before they lost the final hints of youthfulness. My box of 99's just got good last summer and are smoking great...

    Favorite Mild Cigar

AKmik, In my opinion the Padron 1964 Maduros , Monte 4 and Boli PC's are definitely not mild. When you smoke do you exhale the smoke through your nose? If not try it and you will see that none of the cigars you mentioned are in any way mild. For mild cigars here is my list of the cigars I...

    Jose Piedras

I've smoked almost every size and for the money they are a good deal. I have never bought any, all the ones I got were bonuses that came with other cigars I purchased. I forget who it was that was giving them as bonuses, but for a while I was getting 5 packs of different sizes on a regular...
