I'm not a "cheap wine" kind of guy usually because I don't run across that many that taste good.

But I had one tonight that was pretty darn good and right up the street from me.

2005 Governor's White
semi-dry white wine from Williamsburg Winery, Va. --- around $7 bones.

Color: very light straw

Nose: Sweet/Fruity - This actually has a decent nose to it. It's not great, but there's just enough to tickle my nose and make it interesting.

Taste: Well, it is a cheap wine, so there is some sourness to it. But it does have a good sweet character to it. There is some wet stone, lot's of apple, apricot, pear and a little grass. I really enjoyed it during my main meal tonight.

Finish: The finish is what I like best about it. Usually white wines are pretty hard on me. I have serous reflux issues so I don't like wines that are high in acidity. But this wine is very smooth and doesn't bother me at all. It's got a nice medium finish, not too dry, pretty sweet that leaves you wanting another swallow.

Ending Comments: As for myself, I'm not a big white wine drinker. This was given to me from my brother-in-law and so I decided to open it because I was having a shrimp and feta pasta meal. I was able to use some of it in the saute and I drank the rest and it left me wanting another bottle. :(

So all and all, for $7 - 6 bones, this is a pretty good affordable every day table wine. I will pick some more up at the grocery store. The only down side is that it is regional. Sorry. :)
