So I ran a 5K this morning. It was my first one. It was I think 3.1 miles and it took me 33:40.

I was impressed with my fat self (6'4" 275). I think I will do another next month and then maybe the Peachtree Road Race. I couldn't have done without my iPod.

Darin

edited to add it was pouring rain and 43 degrees. I am that hardcore.

That is awesome. Way to go and keep at it. Running, I am tolf by my wife, is another great addictive passion.

Well done bud. My wife and I have targeted one in a couple of months. It is a benefit race for a friend of ours that died suddenly last year, we're using it as motivation to shed the winter layer and get back some semblance of what we used to look like. This aging thing sucks.

Awesome! I'm looking to do my first next month, (I'm hoping to be under 35 min), as a guage for my first triathlon in June.

That is awesome and sounds very rewarding. This one was "Run for a cause" to benefit Children with Cancer.

Nice work. I'm 6'5" and 255 lbs. Running is tough for us big guys. Keep it up and before you know it, you will be running 5 miles runs and next thing 1/2 marathons. Running can really be an addicting activity.

Awesome!

I'm 6'4" 240. I was running at least three days a week over last summer and had dropped from 260lbs down to 235 but when winter hit I stopped and have put 5 lbs back on. Now that it is warming up and staying light later I'm back into the swing of things and started running again last week. My time for 2.5 miles (last week) was 32 minutes so I have some catching up to do.
