I saw this story some time ago and it really plucked at the heart strings.

An old man was sitting in the garden when his son sat down next to him. The father pointed at a bird and said to his son "What's that?" The son replied "It's a bird" The father then looks at the bird and says "What's that?" the son again replies "A bird!" This goes on about 10 times and the son gets more and more frustrated to the point of almost being angry with his father.
At this point the father gets up and goes in the house to get something. He comes out with his diary. He opens the book and shows his son where he had written about a time in the park when his son was very young and had asked him over and over again "What's that?" over 20 times. He then tells his son " I sat with you and let you ask me this over and over and never raised my voice to you." The son realizing what he had done, hugged his father and began to cry.
On this fathers day we should consider how our fathers took care of us when we were young and be patient with them as they grow old. Most importantly, tell them you love them and you appreceiate what they've done for you throughout life.
God bless our fathers.

My grandpa died at 88 when I was 19. He used to tell me old stories about his life over and over and over again. I would get so frustrated with him telling me the same things again and again. He knew what he was doing by telling and retelling those stories, because I can remember those stories very well even now.

With age comes wisdom, and I would love to be able to sit and listen to him tell those stories again now.
