Newfie
Official Lancero Whore
I'm in Louisiana on business, south end of Baton Rouge. Of course my fuggin' company booked me into a non-smoking hotel!!!
Anyhow, last night I end up at Don Juan's for a smoke. Nice open airy & bright place with a nice selection (albeit a little pricy from what I'm used to in Detroit) and a lovely lounging area.
So I'm standing around looking at al their stuff, puffing away on my first Oliva Ser "O" (and enjoying it if I may say so). I start chatting with the couple of guys who work there and one of the patrons, all nice guys.
They recognize from my accent I'm "from away" (LOL, no shit) and I tell 'em I'm from Canada. They start asking about Canadian smoke prices and tell 'em what I know, and I really think they thought I was bullshiting 'em. Of course the talk comes around to favourite smokes and so forth.
This one guy Tom gets up, walks to one of the cabinets, takes out a Padron '26 #1 and lays it in front of me and says "Enjoy". Never seen the guy before, may never see him again, but yet he passes one of the priciest smokes in the store to me, for no reason.
The generosity of cigar smokers never ceases to amaze me.
