I'm trying to get a feel for CP andthe value of my sticks in a pass or trade. Anyone want to humor me with ideas on what I could expect from a 1 to 1? Also a ballpark value on each, I know what I paid but I'm currently buying singles and I don't know how much they are getting marked up. The stick w/ no band is a RP Edge. I also have a ForbiddenX from the DVD set, but it was a wedding gift and I keep with someone I trust more than myself. Also, what's the best way to build up a humidor, should I buy a box of something and start trading? Clearly my collection is a little weak. Thanks for any help/advice.

Check out the reference threads in this sub-forum that are pinned, they give the msrp's on all the fuente and padron products.

Also read up on and keep tabs on passes that are currently running or have completed, and see what folks have been playing in those.

And to build up a humidor trading really isn't necessary. Just find boxes or cigars that you like and buy them, if you can afford it. And check out some of the online retailers that advertise here in the Hot Deals section that offer good deals on some of the higher end cigars like the Fuente & Padron products. Or check out cigarbid, but there's no coming back after you've done that...

The best way to stock a humi, imho, is to get involved with one of the old...I mean seasoned...guys on the board. Visit the Newbie Sampler Thread and read the first post. These guys can hook you up with a nice selection of sticks. I am looking for mine in the mail any day now.
Hope this helps.

There are a bunch of ways to start filling out the humi. If you want a GREAT collection of really outstanding sticks,( which, by the way, looks to be the direction you are going) the Newbie trade is the way to go. You can set the price you want to pay (50 or 100 seems to be the most common I think), and give the FOG you are talking to a basic description of what you like. You will NTO be disappointed. If you would rather get more sticks of not neccesarily the same high level, CI often has deals grouped by strength or size or style, or country of origin.
Good luck!
Oh, and stay away from C-Bid if you 1) like your wallet and 2) don't want to buy a cooler or cabinet humidor this year (or month!)

Everyone I think has submitted the right suggestions, and your collection is not bad, those all look like kind of high end sticks. Also keep an eye out for people offering things up on the board, but be careful and don't just buy from anyone. And when in doubt ask a FOG.

Here is a good reference for MSRP prices and a few reviews...... http://www.top25cigar.com/reviewdatabase/

Newbie Sampler Trade........ Here This is a great way to get some really good cigars from some great guys.....

Just remember......... the best way to establish yourself here is time. Hang around, come into the chat room, talk to some of the different guys here and become part of the community. Before you know it you'll be meeting guys for HERFs and trading cigars that you never thought you would see.

Your knowledge will be expanded

You can check out CigarInternational, Holt, JRs to get some values. There is a ton of information in posts. Just search the flavor you are looking for. I agree, the Newbie Sampler is a great start for some variety. The trade I did was a great variety and a heck of a deal. There is no way to get the variety for the cost of the trade.

Welcome.

Jason

Im not sure if anyone mentioned this, but you may want to try the newbie sampler :D :D :D

Seriously though, it is a really good deal

Your collection may be small, but by no means is it weak.
Check out the "Buy, Sell, Trade and Group Purchases" for 5'ers or box splits and diversify.
Enjoy!

Honestly...I would just save the sticks you have and start picking up some every day smokes. But what does Mr Peat know...he has to keep his good sticks 83 miles away from him so they are safe.
