James Gandolfini has a documentary called Alive Day Memories that will be showing on HBO, Sept 9. I saw an interview with Gandolfini tonight and got the impression that this is a powerful film. He interviews ten wounded vets returned home from Iraq. The vets share stories of their service, disabilities, and plans for the future. It was also noted that Gandolfini did an amazing job of keeping politics out of the picture.
This is a man that I have a fond respect for. Instead of doing another Soprano season and making however many more millions, he puts his heart into a project about our troops. AND...does it for one sole reason: to commend them.
