Handyman Dave warned me to expect a package on Monday - and Monday came and went, but yesterday I received a note from my neighbors on Yale Ave (I'm on Harvard, they're on Yale, and we're only a block or so apart, and so we get a fair bit of each other's deliveries) that they had a package for me.
It was too late by the time I got around to it last night, but I dragged my sorry self over to their doorstep tonight. And I was blown away.
Thank you, Dave. I'm astonished, abashed, and taken aback by your generosity. I'm going to go outside with the smallest of them and light it up and think of all all the good things that life has given me. A little solitude, humility and deep appreciation is the order of the day.
