As some of you know I teach hunting and manage several lakes and a couple of hunting areas. On occasion after a class I will pick a couple of the better students to hunt with me in my personal hunting area. Last year one of the students I picked was our chief of staff for the area. It turned out he is a really down to earth guy and an avid cigar smoker.

So he called me up today and says hey can I stop by for a few minutes I said sure. He comes by and gives me a wrapped present I open it up and it about a foot long piece of wood with a town name company name and serial numbers on it. I am a bit confused so he pulls it apart and I realize it is an old fashion cigar press for small figurados. To say the least I was stunned very thoughtful gift from a helluva nice guy I am going to put it in my smoking room.

he also brought me a bottle of Auchentoshan triple distilled lowland single malt scotch I am going to sample tonight.

Dale Doesn't have a digi cam... I'm going over at 6pm and I'll take some :-)

Very nice gift, enjoy the scotch tonight the mold will be a nice trophy. I believe Hanau, Germany was known for producing cigars. Any clue if these are still made there?

They didn't have tubed versions of the Auchentoshan when I bought mine. LMK when you're done with it and maybe we can trade.

Nice looking cigar press. You can sometimes find them in this area too since York was the cigar capitol of the US at the start of the last century.
