So, in a month, I am off for two weeks in Aruba. Never been before, but excited about 2 weeks with my lovely fiance and her family, hanging on the beach, playing some great (well, horrible) golf, drinking too much, and smoking a hundred or so cigars. Aparently I am staying about a 7 minute moped ride from LCDH, and can't wait. I know that they generally have lousy prices, but if I remember correctly, they are the place to go in Aruba for genuine cigars, especially if you want to hang out and smoke in air conditioning...am I right here?

Are the sticks usually in good shape right out of their humi, or should I bring a travel boix to dry them overnight?

Any input?

I haven;t had a week off since 2001, and haven't had 2 off since somewhere around 1992. So, I really want to make the most of it.

Oh man, I'm jealous! You should have a great time! My wife loves Aruba and I imagine some time down the road we'll vacation there. I saw pictures of the island and it looks beautiful (at least the parts that weren't desert or mountain terrain).

Enjoy the cigar smoking there too! I had a great time on my honeymoon last summer in Cabo partaking in many cigars. My wife bought clothes and other items whereas I just bought cigars :)

My former boss at the DEP is down there right now!! He's been spending the 2nd week in November in Aruba every year for quite some time now (he owns a time share). He's a cigar smoker too. I haven't talked to him in quite some time, I wish you had mentioned something back in October and I would have tracked him down for you. He just moved from Coventry to Hartford.

LOL! Thanks, CC. If you speak to him after he gets back, let me know where he shopped, and how he liked it.
And if he needs a new DEP attorney, let him know I have someone interested, still.
We have a timeshare, and I can not WAIT to smoke a Luisitania (sp?) on my balcony.

Josh, since you're a good guy, I cannot in good conscience advise you or anyone you know to seek employment at the DEP

I gotta be able to sleep at night and you need to keep your friends (and your wife) :D

Yes... Be sure to visit the LCDH. Also, if you are looking for excellent deals on Jewelry, visit Kay's. They are good people and will negotiate with you.

Just do not waste your time going to the natural bridge... it no longer exists... it fell down a little while back :( Yes, we lost one of the natural wonders.

ENJOY!!!
