Hi guys,

I figured this would be a little easier than doing the IM thing when we're all usually on at different times.

We have briefly talked about the possibility of doing some special reviews amongst the 3 of us, each with the same cigar, each of us supplying the cigars to the others in a round-table way every couple weeks or month.

So, here's our forum to discuss the logistics and we'll keep the cigars secret until we release the reviews :p

I think every 2 weeks is doable, with us rotating the supply of the cigars, it would mean us sending out packages to each other every 6 weeks or so. I believe Muley even volunteered to go first, I would be happy to go second and Tireius if your still interested you would go third :)

It's just a matter of whether we're all still for this or not. Let me/us know through this thread and we'll discuss more.

Sam, were we planning to do the reviews blind (ie, sans bands) or with bands on?

Still sounds good to me also. The blind, not blind question is great. In addition, should we have one of the three of us collect the reviews and post all three at the same time or just post them individually on here? Reason I ask; with me over here still, I'll probably be a week or so behind both of you with the mail (Boy, I'd sure like to know how two certain auction sites get things out here so quick!) :D

Just let me know on these issues, then send me your mailing addresses and I'll get the gars out. I've already decided on the first round!
 
Here's my $.02....

I think we should do the reviews not-blind so that everybody's on the same footing. Obviously, the one that picks the cigars knows what they are.

As for timing, we can let the others know when we've received the cigars, then once everybody has theirs, agree on a day to posts reviews.

Jmho...if you guys feel differently, I could easily be swayed.
 
I have to agree with the "not blind" way of doing it. The idea here isn't to offer "professional reviews" just layman reveiws by some independent cigar lovers ;)

I think once each of has the cigar, wait up to a week and then submit the review to whomever is "hosting" that particular week and posting all 3 reviews together.

Sounds like a go.

I'll get the gars - need two days to get them and in the mail though, crap just hit the fan and I'm stuck cleaning the ceiling!

I'll send them with the labels (the correct labels :D I wouldn't do anything like switching the labels or anything :lookup: )

Then, once we all acknowledge receipt, we'll smoke as we see fit. Then I'll wait for the reviews to be sent to me and post together.

Sound about right?

Hope you guys like my first choice! (said with maliscious grin and violent rubbing together of hands.)

please forgive the lack of contact. Remember that pile that I mentioned was hitting the fan? It never stopped. Put it this way, (If you haven't seen the news already) I'm on the USS Kitty Hawk and our Commanding Officer (the national hero that led our ship as we initially engaged the Taliban) was just relieved of command for various reasons.

Anyway, I wasn't able to get the class of cigar that I was planning on, but was able to get what is supposed to be pretty good quality. C.A. rated this cigar pretty high (won't say what to avoid bias.) These are a little more valuable than usual too, because they've been aging for just over a year.

I'll shoot them out in the mail in about 12 hours or so from now!
