Avitar Help Please

I uploaded a pic of me kissing a fish. It is in my Gallery. I can't get it to fit my profile picture and I also want to use it as my Avitar. Can someone please help me with this?

Upload it to a host site like Photobucket and resize it to avatar size and try again.
