I keep my Humidors in the basement for the summer. Today I put a Dehumidifyer in my basement. It's located on the other side of the room from my Humies. The temp in the room hangs around 68 deg. I keep a hydrometer outside my Humies to measure the rooms humidity that hangs around 78-80%. My Humies read around 75%. My ??? is what should I set my Dehumidifyer at. I have it set at 50% now. Should it be set lower or higher?

My dehumidifyer in my basement is set for 40% and my humidors (yes on the other side of the room) are reading and kept at 68-70%.

Yeah, I'm like Robert, wish I had a basement in Sunny Central Florida. Most likely would be flooded out most of the time though..... :D :sign: :p  :D
Me too... I do miss a basement. :(

Don't think the Climaxx beads could absorb that much moisture. :sign:

I have a dehumidifier in my basement set to 50% also. It is on a 6hr on, 6 hr off cycle and this keeps the basement at 70%. In my case the longer I would let it run, the lower the humidity would be in the basement. If you don't have that option and yours runs more or less all the time you should try to get your unit as close to the center of the area you are trying to dehumidify. This will help with the efficiency and help lower the humidity overall.

I should call it my herfin room. I might have a sign made up and hang it at the entrance "If your not here to HERF than get OUT!!". I'll have pics soon. I bought 2 of those orek air purifiers with the smoke eaters. I just need to put down the hardwood floor. I've been running that dehum for about 24hr now and had to empty the thing twice. Thanks for all the ans to my???
