I think Endy Chavez's catch of Scot Rolens would be homer was the best post season catch ever. It rivals any catch regular or post season. The more I see the replay, the more amazing it looks.

Im not a fan of either team, but with a rested pitching staff, it looks like the Tigers in 5 or 6.

Definitely a hellava grab.

If they had ended up winning it woulda had more impact.

But since they lost, I'll vote it as an awesome grab, that just doesn't matter :)

Oh, I'm a Cards fan BTW, lol

Awesome catch, but it will likely be seen as less significant as the Mets lost the game. The Giants however went on to sweep the World Series after this catch was made in a 2-2, Game 1, 8th inning ballgame.

It was a great catch, but is less important since they didn't win. The 69 Mets had some great catches from Ron Swoboda and Tommie Agee in the World Series. But this was an athletic feat, Endy timed the jump and was surprised that it stayed in and the double play was huge at the point.

By the way I went to my first Mets game in the Polo Grounds in 1962. The same Polo Grounds that Willie made the catch in.

What an experience that must have been. I would imagine a very different type of baseball was played on a field of those proportions. I went to my first Mets game last year. I can't say I was overly excited with Shea Stadium, although watching planes fly in at eye level beyond the outfield wall was an experience.

I will say this I lived in the Bronx a few blocks from Yankee Stadium and close enough to walk to the Polo Grounds, but the Polo Grounds was a funky stadium. Not very fan friendly with columns in the most odd of places. Once the Mets moved to Shea I had limited access to them, I'll be glad when they build the new stadium. I started to see the Yankees because after the seventh inning we used to slip in to the bleacher area for free. Got to see Mickey Mantle play center field before he moved to first base at the end of his career.

Enough with the history, I feel ancient.
