Well Jerry I managed to smoke #1 this morning. I let them rest for about a week in the humidor to ensure the temperature and humidity had a chance to stabilize.

Snow and 18 degrees does not offer many opportunities to relax with a stick outdoors. So I jumped in the hot tub with a cup of coffee, camera and a nice cigar. The pictures did not turn out well so I will try to do better in the future.

The wrapper is dark, oily and toothy. A few larger veins, but overall a very nice looking cigar. I compared this stick to a Don Carlos #4. They are similar in size, however the DC is has a tapered head where this one was rounded.

The pre-lit aroma is bold tobacco with a slightly grassy note.

The foot lit nicely with an even initial burn. The first draw was a bit harsh coating the mouth with a heavy tobacco plaque. I enjoy a robust cigar, but the first impression here was not good. After a few more puffs the flavor became more consistent. Part of the ash fell off with less than an inch gone and there was something hard like a stem that was causing an uneven burn. I noticed the wrapper had split (probably due to the temperature extremes). The split was about an inch long, but did not continue to unravel. Quite a bit of tar developed as I smoked. I would expect this considering the appearance of the cigar.

The closer I got to the midpoint the more I enjoyed the cigar. I finished with about an inch remaining, not because I didn't enjoy it, but my hand was freezing  The flavor was consistent to me with a very earthy bold tobacco flavor and a long finish.

I would smoke these again. Paula liked it as well...

Thanks Jerry - So what was it?

Sounds like a Dog Rocket!! lol It actually is a Illusione MK I also had burn issues but found it to be a very nice stick full of flavor.

Definitely not a dog rocket. Poor first impression for me, good last impression. So stick #1 is done. I probably won't get a chance to try another until this weekend. I will continue to post on this thread.

Thanks again...
