The NEW, world fastest production car, the SSC Ultimate Aero.

Its got 1,183 bhp, 1,094 ft-lbs of torque, and only weighs 2,750 pounds!
But best of all, it doesn't have one of those fancy European V10s, V12s, or W16s (as in the case of the Veyron) but instead, just a massive 6.3L twin turbo American V8!
And this is all coupled to a 6 speed Stick, NOT some clutch-less pedals!

0-60 in 2.78 seconds
1/4 mile in 9.90 seconds
and a top speed of 256 MPH

The stats aren't much more then a Veyron, but the fact that it does it with a V8, and is fully designed by an American company, is epic.
Also, the price for one of these production cars is only about $600k, not the ~$1.5 million that the Bugatti Veyron demands.

Heres a test drive with that lucky sob, Jay Leno;

Not bad for 385 CI. Nothing like what Gale Banks can do with his engines but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have a hand in this somewhere.

Not bad at all. A neighbor of mine has the Veyron and I gotta say...that thing is a fuggin' work of art. :love:

I just got done watching about that car on super cars exposed.

The SSC is an interesting piece of kit, but for sheer durability and usability when compared to the Bugatti, the Veyron wins hands down. Bugatti has released two special edition Veryrons which have raised my interest in the project. The Pur Sang (pure blood) was released first. Limited to 5 cars, all where finished with a high-polish finish and carbon fiber and all were sold to Asia and the Gulf. Now, the Sang Noir (black blood) has been released with 15 examples being offered to US customers first as there was an apparent backlash from none of the Pur Sang edition cars being offered in the US. Check out the Sang Noir in its black with carbon fiber finish over a redish orange interior.

I'm really feeling the Sang Noir, what do you guys think?
