I have seen some great carpentery work on this site, so I thought someone may be able to help me out. The below three pictures are of a set of hinges on my custom built desk (the maker has since died). Any clue on how I may find them (Lowe's guy just laughed), an HTML link would be much appreciated.
They are 1 1/2 inch in diameter, no brand name on it but there is a number 1588.

Actually it looks a lot like an old drop flap hinge to me. They are used in desks and whatnot where the writing table folds down and needs to be supported. Here's one from Rockler (where I usually get a lot of hardware from):

But just do a google search for "drop flap hinge" and you should be able to find a bunch of them.
