So yeah.. there's some pretty amazing filters and effects being added to our phones constantly...
Can we have some kind of gentleman's agreement, or something, where we agree to limit filters we apply to our cigar porn? I understand that many conditions can affect how our pics look. Some minor corrections that are clearly done to assist the viewer are always appreciated. Some shots just need a little help.
But, if I'm looking at a cigar that I smoke 2 boxes a year of, I know it's NOT that dark.. or light.. or.. whatever. Posting shots that aren't truly representative of how the cigar actually looks is a disservice to us all. I know how purdy they can make some sticks... that's their whole point.
It's not really that bad here compared to some places. Which is why I'm saying something now so we don't end up there. But there's definitely a lot of cigar filter-applying going on all over and I hope it stays minimal here.
When the filter button pops up with all the options.. it's easy to get lost clicking each one to see what it will do. And then we don't realize just how far from the original we've strayed after clicking save.
If using a filter, please just go back and double-check the original real quick and make sure it's still representative of the original. And really guys, we just gotta face facts...
We'll never shoot as good as George and his professional bird models!
