I have 3 rare audio CD's I want to encode into MP3. All 3 are continuously mixed multi linked-track cd's. I want an Ripper that will take the 12 tracks and make 1 single MP3 frpm them. I prefer something that will support VBR encoding. If I had to settle for WMA or RM then I guess I would have to go that route. Also, if it cound encode to OGG and MP3, then it would definately be my first choice. Thanks in advance!

use a proggie that is tried and true. i have started to encode my cd collection(250 disks) to load onto my creative zen touch. it is audiograbber, it is free adn fast. grab the LAME encoder(also free) for the mp3 encoding. OOG is an apple codec, supposedly has a better compression algorithm and is virtually lossless as far as fidelity in the recording goes. for that you may want to try itunes, i forget if you can rip and encode (my wife has the ipod and the software on her laptop)to OOG with itunes. I just remembered, you can rip/encode with audiograbber in OOG, here is the download link http://www.download.com/3000-2140-10262582.html Hope this helps, take care...Rob

LameFE offers a simple GUI for LAME and other encoders, including Ogg/Vorbis, MP3, WAV, and Monkey Audio. LameFE features a fully automated batch mode (it can use all CD drives) and also supports CD backup, CDText, and CDPlayer.ini. A toggled ID3 tag editor allows quick edits to ID3 version 1 and 2 tags. Users can easily define filename format, create playlists, query FreeDB servers to access file and album information, and much more.
