I used search and couldn't find what I was looking for. I just got done smoking an Oliva series V that has sat naked in my humidor for 5-6 months. It had a very unpleasant "woodsy" flavor to it that the same cigar before has never had. I have a 100 count desktop humi the humidity and temperature stay consistent. I was wondering if because I was letting it sit naked if the wood from the humi may have tainted the flavor?

Do you think that if the lining of a humidor somehow tainted the flavor of the smoke, folks would continue to build humidors out of wood for year after year?

I just typed "cello on" in the search box and got page after page of discussion on the subject. I believe there is plenty of info on the subject though you may have to do some digging.

A word to the wise - new guys that ask "cello on or off" are usually given a hard time because (A) there's a ton of info on the subject if you just look a bit, and (B) the question has been answered a couple thousand times, hence the preponderance of information on the subject.

Zocco, I'm going to try and refrain from bustin' your balls too much on this thread.

So I'll just say this. There is a ridiculous amount of information on this subject if you use the search function correctly.....and no, the humidor certainly did not taint the flavor....naked or not has zero play on that.

Happy smoking.

Personal preference is up to you man, but if you're looking for some aged shellacked yellow cello, SPIVY is your man to call... Now go search that! :p

Why do these threads get started?

I thought a nice woodsy taste was something we all looked forward to in a good cigar!

Okay, search is still your friend with the new software.

Is this a joke? Sorry bro, but there is no way you could have used the search function. That or you couldn't search your way out of a brown paper bag...
