Just in case you were thinking of buying a car or something you can buy this instead!

18 Vintages of Yquem Direct from the Château - $24,900

We just returned from our Bordeaux buying trip and brought with us an incredible offer - an 18 vintage collection of Château d'Yquem going back to 1934. The youngest vintage is 1982 and the average vintage is 1953! The bottles have been resting at the Château since release and will be coming directly from the Château cellars to you.

Assembling this collection yourself from the cheapest sources on Wine-Searcher would cost you about $30,000.

Each bottle has been stored at the Château since release. The bottles are stored without labels (standard practice at the Château) - you will get brand new labels on the original bottles. Each bottle is packaged in its own wood case. Six of those wood cases are put into one larger wood case. So you will receive three such larger wooden cases each containing 6 wooden cases of one bottle each. The wooden cases are branded with the vintage.

What a unique opportunity. Where else can you get a selection like this dating back to 1934 direct from the Château? Considering current vintage Yquem is about $600 per bottle, an average of $1400 for wines between 1934 and 1982 (averaging 50 years of age) is a steal.

I saw this as well but decided to pass this go around :whistling:

I haven't purchased any d'Yquem but have had it a number of times, thanks to a collector friend .... a simply outstanding Sauternes.

Unfortunately I will have to pass on this one this year. :0 I've had a few of the vintages on the list and they were spectacular! What a gift this would make though. :D
