Changing tobacco...

I'm thinking of changing tobacco in one of my pipes.
Up until now I used to smoke Peterson Irish Whiskey
For about a year in this pipe.
I want to start smoking McClelland CHRISTMAS CHEER 2008.

What should I do ?
I mean how to clean it first?
Or should I just start smoking and let nature take its course ?
