I've just gotten an email from Iain Weir, the Director of Marketing for Ian Macleod Distillers Limited who has said the long awaited Chieftain's Cigar Malt will be available for our order in early October. Price to be determined.

Start saving your pennies boys.

That will be my last purchase for the year! Thanks for the update Ray!

Got to save some pennies for the cigars at the end of the year.

It was $100 last year but the exchange rate has worsened by just about 10% plus what ever retail price increase they may have tacked on. I'm guessing between $110 and $125.

I think I tried this at WOW and just wasn't all that impressed by it. I'll have to go back through my notes again to make sure, I know there was one called "Cigar Malt" or something with "Cigar" in the name that I didn't care for, but I'll have to make sure.

Hey Ray, thank you so much for making these available to us  . So does it look like there will be any of the Balvenie 21 yo Port Wood or any 30 yo's ? My penny jar is filling up fast!

This is not the Dalmore cigar malt so don't confuse them. As for the Balvenie bottles you can get both the PortWood 21 and the Balvenie 30 and the Vintage Cask 1973 here in the US and such won't be part of my buy.

Damn your good ...... yup. it was the Dalmore. So what is a cigar malt? I notice there are a few folks that make them.

Okay, I suppose I could google and figure it out ...

Edit: google is your friend ........ if anyone else is interested in a short read on the subject, click HERE. Now my interest is peaked in this Cigar Malt.
