I have been lurking ang sometimes posting over there for a while. It is a little too cliqueish for me, but it has its redeeming features. Anyways they are hosting a charity auction which has brought the site to it's knees. Apparently the site program can't handle all the people trying to access it and keeps spitting out this message when you try and reach any of the pages:

Adam is working to rectify this situation. The site is back online and seems to be running a bit smoother.

You guys really think that's the case??? I find it to be a very friendly board that welcomes everyone who is a member.
 
It's ok.
I found the thong of the day interesting for awhile.
Then I realized I had not visited for a porn fix
but had visited for cigars.

But, the folks do seem friendly.
 
Naw, Matt, they got it right. Cliqueish for certain. The SoCal contingent and other friends of theirs tend to stay to themselves. I've been over there since the beginning just about and rarely am I engaged or responded to. It's a private club...not that that is a bad thing...I mean...Thong of the day, Jams. Hmmmm...interesting choice of words. Anyway, after six months I still feel like a guest there. JMO

SenorSmoke is correct in that they are friendly, but Neal hit the nail on the head. I know it has a lot to do with time. And a lot more to do with meeting each other in person. Thats all cool and all, but it is clearly evident to those not in the circle of friends. I just look at CD as another reference source. To each their own I guess. Thats my 2 cents.

Man, I'm sorry you guys feel that way. I'll have to say something to the masses over there. It is true that a lot of us are good friends outside of the message boards, but that has come about through the message boards. I just don't see any cliques when I compare it to CF. I guess that could be because I am in the cliques. LMAO!! I can say that the reason the that the Anything Goes forum is probably the most active because a lot of us have been doing this message board thing for so long that cigar talk sometimes becomes boring. I would never want to pull anyone away from Cigar Pass, but if you do come over to Cigar Divan to visit or stay, I would hope that you would feel welcome. If that's not tha case then I think something should be said and I will definatley be saying something. Adam (Huminie), who set up Cigar Divan, is a member here and although he doesn't post here I know he took a look at all the boards while making his site and tried to combine a little bit of all of them into his site. If I have done anything to make anyone less than welcome (besides the few jagoffs who deserved it), I apologize.
 
I go to both and find a similar thread of comraderie from a core group of people at each site. I would imagine most boards have some "home" members and some roamers....both places have made me feel welcomed and a part of...just the HO of a "newbie"....

I'd probably disagree with CD being cliqueish. There might be that group of people like the socal crew and springfield crew that post alot to each other with inside jokes and what not...but I wouldn't say the overall atmosphere is cliqueish. I've never not gotten a return PM from anyone on the board and everyone has always seemed open and friendly.IMHO. I can see where some could get that impression, but like Matt had stated...alot of the CD members have been on boards awhile and are tired of posting about cigars...so most the activity is in none cigar related forums. If there is a clique...I'm certainly not in it...so that's just my "outsiders" view. :)
