Cigars and Casinos

The wife and I are heading back out to Vegas in October. Typically on a Vegas trip I'll seek out a cigar bar at least once to relax with a stick and a drink. Occasionally, I'll fire up a cigar on the casino floor if the mood strikes and circumstances are right. I will never sit down at a table and light up without asking the dealer and other players if they mind. I will also not sit down at a video poker machine (don't really play slots) next to someone who was already there and light up without asking them first. However...if I'm the only one at a table and somebody else comes and sits down at the table while I'm smoking, I do not offer to put it out. I figure they can see that I'm smoking and if they don't like it they can choose another table.

Anybody else have any rules/etiquette they follow when smoking in casinos?

I thought they changed the laws so that smoking was not allowed inside the casino. Maybe one of the Vegas brothers could clarify.

Only smoked inside a casino once and the only real etiquette I abide by (and it applies anywhere I smoke) is to blow the smoke upwards so I'm not blowing smoke into someone's face.

I tend to agree with you on this.

I believe you can still smoke on the casino floors in Vegas. Here in Ohio the casinos are no smoking.

Just got back and you can smoke in Casinos still. The gayity known as "vaping" probably plays into the decreased smell.

The Montecristo Cigar bar in Ceasars is really nice, and according to a bartender, does not charge a cutting fee for cigars brought in.

Just got back and it's pretty much a free for all as far as smoking in most casinos. Basic etiquette like not hammering on a highway flare like a Feral Pig in close quarters probably goes a long way.

I liked the Montecristo bar too...comfortable and laid back. I did have a bartender ask me to buy a smoke from their humidor, but I didn't mind the $22 Tat Regio gouge...I don't drink so when I'm only paying for mocktails it was a fair trade. That only happened once out of about 4 visits.
