Does anyone have this at their home network and if so do you know where I can download the Network Magic software into my new computers. Cisco tells me it is discontinued and I need to buy a new router! That didn't go over well...LOL I have 2 new laptops that work on the WiFi but I want to be able to wireless print and access my home computer when on the network. I am not a computer guy at all and can barely fine my way around windows 7 so please remember that when trying to help.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Thanks Gary I will take a look into this tomorrow night once I get home from work.

I use logmein and it's free up to 1 computer. Works great. If you use RDP, you'll need to put your computer on the DMZ of your router, or at least create a route to it and open the RDP port. Logmein is much simpler...

He mentioned he wanted to do it from within the network, if he wants to login from outside then yup...make sure your open for it!

Or is it just me? :(

No I'm even more confused now than I was when I started. I think Gary pretty much covered it in the first post but let me try and make it a little clearer...LOL

I have a desktop in my house that has my Comcast Cable internet modem hooked to it with a wireless router in line with the computer and modem. So this makes my house wireless and I can view the network on the Cisco Network Magic program that is installed in that computer. Also there is an older photo printer hooked to the desktop computer. Now my wife and I both have new laptops that we use 90% of the time in the house and access the internet via the wireless network within the house. When we are on the network with the laptops and I go to the desktop and view the Cisco program it shows an alert on both laptops that they don't have the Cisco program installed. I guess my main question is if they had this program installed would I be able to access the the files in that computer and could i print something from my laptop thru the desktop printer.

Please remember I am a computer idiot and don't know the abbreviation you guys ar throwing out there! (ex.RDP,DMZ and LogMeln)

Thanks again,
Paul

I'll send you my number. You shouldn't need anything else to see the computers.
