Good Morning To All........

Well, you have convinced me to try the Climmax media before anything else (i.e. cigar oasis). Now for the next question............I have a 300 count humi with two larger sized sponge devices and about 75 sticks in it right now (but always growing....cigarbid.com is going to be the death of me :)). Which way should I go? Should I replace the existing devices with two of the Premier Regulars, several of the Tubos or buy the media by the pound and make several canisters to place them around inside of the humi? Also I live on the east coast (Maryland) so the outside RH will fluctuate (right now it's about 61%). Should I go with the 70% or 65%? I know there are many thoughts on this. I will probably be adding another humi sometime down the road for storage but right now this humi is the only one and is used for both storage and daily activity.

Basically should I setup the humi with the Climmax in relation to its size or the amount of stogies I plan on storing? Though, how in the world can you ever plan that?

Thanks for all your help once again. Glad I found this place.

I'm sure there will be lots of different opinions on this but...
By the pound, you can make whatever size humidifier you need as your stock grows which answers your second query, make your own. I don't think several is necessary, one should be sufficient.
Buy whatever size tupper suits your needs. Cut the center out of the top. Load yer beads. Lay a nylon screen over yer tupper and pop the lid on. Cut the excess screen away from the outside of the tupper and add water. The screen is helpful if you tip that puppy over and allows you to pour off excess water in the event of overfill.

Ditto what Sam said.

Mr. Maduro...where in MD do you live? I'm also from MD. Maybe we can hookup for a smoke sometime.

Goto the Climmax website and shoot an email off to Vern. Just tell him the size of the area you are going need to humidify and approximently how many sticks are going to be in there on average.

Go with the pound of media! That way you have some when you get the next humidor, and probably some left for the coolerdor you'll buy. :p Yes the coolerdor will come soner or later. :0 As for the 65 or 70 blend thats your choice, how do you like you cigars ? Seems the general rule of thumb is 70% for storage, 65% for smoking. Either one will work for both. I bought the 70% and keep the coolerdor at 70%, use the same for the ready to smoke humi, just don't add water as often and keep it around 65%. It's a bit more work to keep at 65% but I open that one 3-5 times a day so it's not a problem. If you ask 50 people you'll probably get 50 different methods of using them. The wonder of it all is that they all work, great product Vern!

Well Mr Maddy, we're nieghbors. I live right across the Bay bridge on the Norfolk side. I work at 2 bars, one of which is just to the right of the bridge in VA. I think a mini herf is in order when you get a chance. Hey Joe P., how about it. I'm sure if ole' Emo is in town, He'll be there.

Stogie I think Mr. Maduro means the Chesapeake Bay Bidge and not the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. Norfolk would be a haul for a herf for me.

Hey Stogieman,

Joe P is right. I'm on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Norfolk would be slight haul.

Joe, where are you at in MD?

Ok guys / gals...don't laugh too loud......what's a herf?? I'm still getting my feet wet on the forums.
