So how many more of you look forward to this weekend because it's the CC at your course?

If so, tell us a little about how your's works and your standing.

Fo me, I play at Fox Glen. Saturday starts with Men's A flight playing first, followed by Ladies A, Mens B & C, Ladies B and last off is Mens D. Sunday is reverse order. Monday is the same order as Sunday but 1/2 + ties in both net & gross scores make the cut in all flights.

Personally, I'm currently a 13 and playing in the B. made a couple of minor tweaks lately and playing well.

So, anyone else??

No club championship this weekend, but we do have an event. 2 Day Labor Day Outing. Pick a partner. 4 different 9 hole events. Scramble, Best Ball, Alternate Shot, Chapman. It is a fun event that has a shotgun early each day, so you can be home in time to picnic with the family. Good Luck on your CC. Remember - have fun and smoke a nice one or two.

Thanks Cookie. Fun in the name of the game. The A Flight is different, the 6 & under handicappers have something to play for. For us, it's just bragging rights for low net in our flight.

And yes, smoke something special is a special part of the day. I take 4 cigars each day. 2 Churchill size (something like a Flor de Oliva or a Connie), 1 each for each 9. If I shoot under par Net, I'll have an Opus or a DCM or something as a treat after on the patio, and if I don't do so well, I'll have an Edge or a Double Chateau or something like that.

That tourney you describe is quite similar to our member's event inOctober, the 666. Holes 1-6 are Better Ball, 7-12 are Scramble and 13-18 are Alternate Shot (that's where friendships and marriages are put on the line  ). Same thing, pick your partner and it's a handicapped event. 3 years ago, a husband & wife team won at -11. He was a 6 at the time and she was a 12 IIRC). He hits a 5 iron as high as I hit my 9, and as long as my 3 wood. His drives scream out 10' off the ground for 100 yds and then slowly rise and usually carry 250 or more. Pretty to watch. He's a 6 only because he's can't putt worth a shit.
