Colibri back in business.

""We're replacing everything with brand-new lighters," Mann said. Consumers who purchased Colibri lighters will have their lifetime guarantees fulfilled by the new owners.

"We had a lifetime guarantee—we're going to honor that," said Mann. New lighters sold by Colibri will carry a twoyear warrantee."

This will be interesting to see play out.

Ok, we honor the lifetime warranty on the POS lighters we used to sell.

We're only giving 2 year warranties on the POS lighters we're about to sell?

So, the new business model instead of making better quality lighters, we reduce the warranty.

Why not?

Bruce,

Don't expose their brilliant plan....nobody is supposed to notice that it actually got worse! :whistling:

I have two Colibri triple flame lighters, one is 7 years old and the other is about a year, both are working perfectly. I clean them regurlary and put good butane in them. Hell I even lit smoe really large fireworks last year with the oldest one, cleaned it afterwards and it still worked perfectly after that.

You can have a $hit Ronson or a $hit Xikar, it's all in how you maintain it as far as I'm concerned.

I loved the Colibri single flame I lost last year while providing first-aid... my only complaint was how small the gas tank was. But like you I always used the best fuel I could find and properly maintained it. I'd buy another one just like it in a heart beat, but the model is sadly no longer made.
