I really like the "cutty" shape but they don't seem to be all that common in briar form.

I love Dunhill's take on it as it is very close to the traditional clay version. However, I'm not ready to spend the money on a Dunhill right now. So does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes affordable cutty shaped pipes? I emailed Boswell about making a custom one but never received a response but I'm sure he is very busy right now.

The best one I have found so far is the Stanwell Hans Christian Anderson I, which is nice as I also love churchwardens. Anyone have a cutty in their collection?

I'm not sure about the Cutty shape being made very widely. I've not seen many and most of the ones I've seen have been from the high end carvers and estates that were made by higher end carvers. You could go to the Stanwell website and check out their catalog (or any of the other manufacturers for that matter).

About Boswell's...I'm not sure what's going on there. I've sent several e-mails in the last two weeks that have gone unanswered. These were messages about a pipe that is in progress and I've seen the initial stages of the work. I wonder if they've had some sort of e-mail problem. Gail is usually VERY good about returning e-mails.

I haven't had the chance to call them during business hours yet, but I'm going to tomorrow.
