Daniel Nunez of General Cigar to Retire

It was announced Friday that Daniel Nunez will retire in 2009. Having met him and listened to his passion about cigars first hand, I think this is a big loss to the industry.

From what I know of Dan Carr who will be replace Mr. Nunez, he's a corporate sales and marketing guy where as Daniel is a self described farmer. He has a real love of the product and the process and the people that go into those little sticks of joy we all smoke.

I talked with one the office assistants today. Parently he has some health isssues and looking to just take some time for himself. So it may be a good thing. I left him an email this morning. I'd love to be a part of that coffee meeting with you two!!
