Did I get gifted something kinda rare?

During my trip today Thomas the floor manager reached onto a shelf and pulled down a single cigar coffin.

"Here Shawn, its a little damaged at the foot, but I'd like you to have this." (to which Dale, who was standing next to me, said under his breath to me "You sorry bastard, you always get free cigars!") Its a Camacho Liberty 2003 and the last one we have in the shop. I found it while doing the inventory last week.

I found the swarmy CI review of the 2006 edition and it sounds like a good cigar, and even if it wasn't damaged I'd plan on smoking it anyway, but what the heck did I get gifted today?

And is the pre-embargo tobacco its suppose to have for real or more in the line of the Pinar BS?

I only see the 2005 and 2006 releases and both are sold out. Thats a good sign, crappy cigars are hardly listed as sold out in my experiance.

I noticed that and just edited the my original post. Regardless, It is a good find if you like Camacho cigars. I love them.

I wouldn't say really rare, but it's something that's going to be tougher to find...definately a nice gift though. Camacho makes some good sticks.

We still have three years of Camacho Liberty series, about half of each of the boxes, I really want to pick up one with the flag on it. (I believe it's the '04 release)

EDIT: My mistake, the series with the flag on the coffin is '05.

I picked up 2 of the 2006 series at a shop in Savannah during my last visit there. I have not yet smoked one. I mainly got them because I had not seen them before and have not seen them in any of the shops I have visited during my travels. It states aged 44 years on the coffin. I am not sure what they mean by that and the lady working there had no clue. Each cigar is wrapped in tissue paper inside of the coffin.
I will probably smoke one and add the other to a bomb some time in the future. Has anyone here smoked one of these? If so, how was it. I do enjoy most of the Camacho line, especially the Diplomas.

I agree...Got a couple lying in the bottom of my cooler. Might get around to smoking em one day.

I had one of the ones with the flag on the box. I'm not sure which year it was (it was gifted as well). It was a good smoke. Not too exciting, but it wasn't as strong as some of the other Camacho offerings I've tried and it was fairly smooth.

The Liberty is made in 10000 stick runs every year. It's rare from that aspect. The blend is different every year!
