Was very nice out this evening, so I went looking for a nice smoke to spend some time out on the back porch. I came across an El Rey Del Mundo Grandes de Espana that’s been sitting in my humi for a while. Unfortunately, I can’t for the life of me recall where I got this thing and have no idea the age.

As you can see, the wrapper was a light, golden brown and very smooth on one side with a patchwork of veins down the other. There was a very slight give when squeezed with very good bunching in the foot and what looked to be a four layer cap. Nice. I punched the head (while the dog snored away) and found the draw to be overly tight. I was able to get some air through though and hoped that once lit, it would open up more.

I put fire to the foot and was immediately greeted with strong leather and a dark, very rich nuttiness. Slightly sweet, a burnt caramelized sugar taste perhaps. Although the draw was tight, the strength of the smoke made it almost perfect. I was enjoying this cigar so much it was already a quarter gone before I realized it. The finish on this thing was incredible. I couldn’t stop smacking my lips! The smoke was quite consistent through the first three quarters with the strong leather and dark roasted nuts tastes and that delicious rich caramel. I ended up cutting a bit off the head as the draw began to tighten even more, and it did help as I was able to draw more smoke through.

This cigar was a fantastic smoke, never getting hot or bitter even at the nub and very consistent throughout. I would guess it had at least a few years on it or more from the taste, not to mention the band had started to turn a bit green on the back. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Another fine review. Thanks for sharing. Don't overlook the lunch clubs, especially with the colder weather coming.

Great review as always Greg. I have a few of these in the humi and put off smoking them as the ring gauge is kinda thin for me. Think that I will give em a try! thanks.

I don't want to bring up a 20+ day topic, but I just have to. I completely missed this review Greg. Fantastic. I just added another lancero to my wishlist!!! :sign:
