You mean like when I was fifteen and walked 2mi downtown to my local Sears and Roebuck, bought a 1917 Enfield and a box of ammo, and then walked back home, gun in hand, and nobody cared?

Ah the good old days. Sometimes I wish I was just a little bit older. I do remember being 15 and in the hospital smoking cigarettes in my bed.
That was 83. Tail end of the good times.

I was born in 1986. By the time I was old enough to start enjoying freedom, it was letting out the last whispers of a death rattle. Still, I had a couple of years of smoking in my favourite cigar lounge before even that was snatched away from me. I envy you who have had much more time that I to live a free life.

Still, I find ways around things...
 
My first hand gun-

I was 16. Went to my 1st gun show, bought a Colt government 45 from one dealer,
bought a Bianchi shoulder holster from another dealer and bought 2x50 boxes
of 45 rounds from another. Did this all before noon on a Saturday. I drove
to the local shooting range. I was loading and shooting my simi-auto by 1:00.

Oh yea, I drove myself. I was 16. No one else was in my car. Yes, my car
and this all happened in SoCal.

Wow, when were you 16? That definatly had to be before color was invented.
