Currently:

Pappy Van Winkle 20 yo
Macallan 18 yo
Lagavulin 16 yo
Patron Anejo
Tanqueray Ten
Delamain Family Reserve

Unfortunately, the Macallan bottle is getting mighty low!

AVB: I'm working on a bottle and I have one in reserve that must have been one of the last ones in Chicago. Is it back? I haven't seen it at the major liquor stores here in the last month.

xraydoc???? Are you a radiologist, too? We have similar taste in booze; Tanq 10 is my choice for a martini--w/ blue cheese stuffed olives, of course.

No it isn't back but it hasn't disappeared yet by any means either. I could get my hands on a few cases right now if I wanted and had the cash.

still working on my opinions (slurp!) ..

But top shelf so far..

Macallan 18
Aberlour 15 yr Sherry Finish
Balvenie 15 yr Single Cask
Dalmore 28 yr Stillmans Dram
Glenmorangie 18 Rare Malt

Wish List: :whistling:
Dalwhinnie 90 (15 yr old, double matured, sherry cask)
Daniel Bouju 15 yr 60%, Royal Brut de Fut Cognac
A. J. Hirsch 16 yr old Bourbon
Winkle Family Reserve 13 yr Rye
Blackadder Banff 1966 Cask Strength

FWIW.. and that's not much..

Tested and Rejected, and why..

Lagavulin 16, Blast of Peat and Iodine, Sea Air, Tar, Smoke, and more Iodine.. Very Warming, Very Strongly flavored.. A must have, for Peat lovers.. Not for sherried scotch drinkers :)

Laphroaig Cask Strength 10 yr, Pure Rocket Fuel! Peat and a whiff of iodine, much less medicinal than Lagavulin, complex, very strong, amazing cold weather booze, wonderful for blizzards.. again, if you're not peat friendly, don't go there.

Balvenie Doublewood: Bland, sweetish, a bit fruity.. Not complex, not offensive, but entirely ordinary. Won't offend those who normally drink blended scotch.

Macallan 12: If you're going to drink Mac, buy the 18. Nuff Said.

Glenlivit 12: Buy bourbon instead. It's shameful to do that to scotch. And to think I used to pay money for it.. ;(

Glenfarclas 105: Paint Thinner, Varnish, Pine resin, some people LIKE this stuff. No accounting for tastes..

Aberlour Abunadh: I've cursed it, I've praised it, I've decided never to buy another bottle.. Smooth as milk, strong as King Kong, spicy and oily and sweet and one dimensional.. every sip the same, no development, the PERFECT flask booze on a blustery day.. if you need strong and flavorful, it works.

Somebody liked my reviews

not so much that I like your "reviews".. exactly.. though they're Very Helpful..

It's just that you have such good taste in comestibles. :)

Laphroaig is Still Sitting Here, missed making it to the P.O. today but will go out first thing tomorrow, 19th. VERY nice to have a spare on the Aberlour while the Mac is holding out.

TYVM..
