FireFox Question

I've been using FireFox for a couple months now and love it. I downloaded it on The Mrs. computer tonight but when I open the browser, it only opens up one tab. On my computer, it always opens two tabs. I looked through the options menu and didn't find anything to add a second tab, any clues or tips?

Also, on mine, is there a way to make the second tab open to a specific page?
