I was enjoying a 'My Father' lancero tonight and suddenly out of nowhere, no fire.

I didn't drop an ash. I wasn't ignoring it. I didn't put it down. Just one puff it was there, a moment later, gone.

Now I've had this happen before with other smokes, and usually no prob. Relight and move on.

But tonight, I got to thinking, what the bloody hell is happening? Soft spot?? Some break in the blending leaves? What? This stick has been aging months in the humi. The burn was otherwise perfect. Taste was just as good before as it was after this issue.

Weird.

Anyway, in spite of it, this was about as enjoyable as a cigar gets. No complaints at all. The flame out isn't really a complaint either, it just struck me as odd.

Fine smoke though!! Wish I had more.

I've had this happen once to me, I blamed it on my humidity being too high (70%), and smoking the cigar immediately after I took it out of my humidor, not letting it sit for a little bit.

Now, my humidity is set at a comfy 65% and I have no more problems with flame outs.

Did you check if maybe you had a tunnel issue? Clip the cigar a little after the burn ring and see if the tobacco in the midle is all black.

Sorry for the threadjack, but I have a box of tat Havana VI victorias that have had more than their share of "lights out" after about an inch. I just clip off the end, pinch the tobacco together and relight. My .02
