Cigarpassaholic. Mmm.. cigarpassahol.
Picked up a bottle of Fonseca 1995 at the liquor store today. Had a friend over tonight and opened it up this evening. Really tasty stuff. I've only had Bin 27, Grahms 6 and that sort of stuff in the past. I decided to take a chance on a 'good' bottle, glad I did. I started off smoking an ISOM Cohiba robusto. The sweetness of the port seemed to meld nicely with the creamy flavor of the cigar. Next I had an Oliva O Omni. This match I didn't like. The stronger more straight forward tobacco taste didn't seem to work well with the sweet wine. Probably would have been better off with a scotch or whisky.
If you're looking for something a step up from the non vintages, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, at about $45 I think this is a great bottle of port. According to the label on the display Wine Spectator gave it a 92.
