Wow...I had not heard he had passed. What a great artist. Truly a great loss, but fortunately he has left many great works behind for people to remember him and admire his accomplishments.

I actually have that picture as a painting hanging up in my theater room. RIP Frank.

Frank Frazetta was my biggest childhood influence. As a young man, I found his sword and sorcery art to be the most compelling.

I went on to be awarded an Art Scholarship, surely helped by countless hours studying his work.

I used to have books with wonderful color plates of several of his works.

His style and techniques have often been copied, but none have ever, imo, came close to bring such life and emotion to the genre.

A true master!

Godspeed.

I still have all of my Robert E. Howard Conan novels. Some are Frazetta covers, some are Boris Vallejo.
Carter and de Camp had polished them up. The fellow who turned me on to Conan was a school teacher.
He had original printing of what we call "Pulp Fiction"
Also have a slew of Burroughs novels of the same genre.
All saved for my little boy, who shows great art skill at six, and who I hope enjoys them as much as I did.

I just looked up the Frazetta Art Books on Ebay. All are over 30 bucks a pop, so far. Will be interesting to see how high they go.
Wish I still had them. :(
