This is a good looking idea. I smoke about one a day. always looking for more info but seem to smoke the same ones most of the time.

Which usually are:
Aliados
Flor de Farach
Fuente Chateaus

Don't usuallly spend a lot per smoke. My experience is that money doesn't always buy you a better smoke. Any opinions about that suggestion for new smokes?

Greetings!, welcome to CP! Fuente Chateaus are good, not necessarily my cup of tea, but I can see why people like 'em. Helix is a good cost effective cigar. I'd also go with Partagas at $3.00 or $4.00 a stick. Don't worry, before too long, you too will be plunking down $10.00 and more for good smokes. Check out the newbie sampler trade thread here.

Well it's not like I haven't spent that. I just never tasted a great return for it. If I closed my eyes an Alieados presidente' was one of the finest smokes in my life. Mac's are too mild for my taste and many cubans seem wrapped too tightly. But what do I know? The pass you just started looks interesting.

Will check out the thread you mentioned. Thanks.

Welcome to CP

The draw of Cuban cigars is on the average, tighter than most domestics but once you get used to it, I think you'll find the firmer draw makes for a better cigar smoking experience. The high-end Fuentes like Opus X and Anejos have a similar firm draw.

However PLUGGED ones drive me crazy

Howdy and welcome to CP from Sunny (Recently Hurricane Ridden) Central Florida. My wife is from Cornwall and I spent 2 years at WestPoint. I was just up in the Newburgh / Vales Gate area last month visiting friends. This is a great site to learn about ceegars you never heard of and get to enjoy them as well...... :) :)
