About 4 years ago I really started doing my research on growing my own cigar tobacco (here in NC soil). I wanted to see if I could really attempt the entire process from growing the tobacco, to drying, to fermenting, to rolling, and even some aging. With tons of research and trial and error, i was ablet o complete 2 batches of cigars that well, turned out pretty ok. I will be attempting the process once again this coming year with new tobacco varities and modifying a few things in the process. How many of you here have ever tried to grow you own cigar tobacco and went through the process? It wasnt as easy as it looked and made me truly appreciate my Cigars even more. I did find that through research and actually going through the process a few times now I have such a better understanding of what it takes and the time and attention that is put into creating each and every cigar. I would love to hear all of your sotries of the process, trials, and tribulations you have all had during your times attempting to create a really good "Homegrown" cigar.

Love this! I dont have the time and patience for it, but i thinks its awesome. It has to be satisfying smoking your own cigar.

I know it's not the same, but have you tried rolling your own cigars by just purchasing the finalized leaf?

Before investing all that time in new plants you may want to give it a shot, if you haven't already. You can learn a lot about flavor profiles of the tobacco by smoking puros containing solely one variety.
