Well, it's about 3:30 and we have just opened our new office. We sell insurance. Anyways, there is a tattoo parlor across the parking lot from our office, and the ladies' husband walked over there while the lady was talking to the other lady in my office about insurance quote, then her husband came back in. He talked for a little bit and then went to get the "new toy" he got today. As I was at my desk, I noticed the man came in with a gun. It looked like a damn 9mm. I just looked at the screen thinking "this is it, day 4 and we are gunna get shot".

We have a man cardboard stand up in between our desks, just a promo thing for the insurance company, we call him Ivan. So the guy then explains how it's not a real gun and it's just a bb gun, then gets up, and shoots Ivan. I'm serious, he shot Ivan. He left a few minutes later, and now has insurance with us.

Anyways, just thought it was kinda weird.

How was ya'lls day? ???

What a dumbass that guy is. I would have called the cops if I were you. Who the hell walks around with a pistol, real or fake???

So did you at least get a commission?? :whistling:

On the flip side it is screwed up what some people do. Proof again that certain people shouldn't breed. :(

My hand was 5 inches from the phone. We have a special 4 digit number, speed dial thing for emergencies.

I'm on salary, so nope. But Rebecca (the other lady in the office, and my "mother-in-law" did  )

Ahhhh....I do. I have a permit and I know when to take it out or not. Can't say the same for allot of people though.

Got you beat, ours is 3 digits... 911. :)

Hahahah yeah the title is catchy I think I would have had him replace Ivan or charged him! Nutjob.

It's good everyone was ok but the thread title is quite an exageration.

Just my opinion but I think pulling out a BB gun in that scenario is just as threatening as pulling out a "real" gun (I guess the way the guy may have been acting would be a huge factor). Of course I'm not familiar with the gun laws in Tenn. but I would imagine that brandishing a firearm of any kind would result in a pretty serious punishment and this guy even fired it.

He sounds like a total moron, I hope he has a huge insurance premium for your sake KB.

No doubt. My LEO friends say they'd have drawn on him and if he didn't get real compliant < immediately > he'd have been dropped.

....so stupid. You're lucky it wasn't a 9mm..... :whistling:

Hang in there - B.B.S.

I was pretty damn nervous for a good 5 minutes! ???

I mean, it's our 4th day being open, and this gun comes in, with a TOO realistic hand gun,and starts waving it around and then points it at the wall...

What would you do?! lol

I think you pretty much described it. "pretty weird".
I think much of this is over reaction. How many were in the office? 4 or 5? If the guy announced, "Hey, let me show you my new toy I got today" and went out and got it, what were you expecting? A new Big Wheel?
If he brought it in, and explained (where everyone could hear him) that it was a toy, an air gun, then what's the problem?
I think he could have handled it a little better, like telling everyone that his new toy was an air gun, and would they mind him bringing it in, but it doesn't sound like he just strolled in and started waving it around. Am I missing something?

I realize he shot Ivan. That was a bad move. When are the services?
