Ham Radio operators

Are there any active ham radio operators with HF privileges out there? It's been awhile since I've asked this question, so I thought it might be time again to see who has a license.

I was on 40M last night and had no problem getting out. Made several contacts into WA, AZ and TX.

So, who's active?

Somewhat active. I only have HF in my truck. I run a high Sierra screwdriver with a yaesu. K5NVY

Fairly active here, I try to check into the 3905 Century Club 40M net a couple of times a month. I've made some good friends there through the years. I'm active during hurricane season with ARES, SKYWARN and SATERN. I don't have room for a beam, my wife and I built a couple of dipoles and a 160M loop, but we've worked all states and about 150 countries with our wire antennas!

How is that 40M antenna working out for you, Rod?

Hey Stat,

40M is working great. Made my first real contacts on it last night, and held a long QSO with a station in AZ for nearly an hour with absolutely no band fading. I have my dipole up about 30 ft or so, however I'm going to raise it up another 10 ft soon.

I think 3905 would be considered 80M. My wire only goes up to 40M, so I'm limited to 40M, 20M, 10M and 6M. I want to pick up the FT-950 to replace my FT-840, which will allow me to finally get on 6M.

Perhaps we can schedule a QSO on HF. I seem to have no problem making it down into the south east.
