Well the one thing I enjoy about my job is traveling to different cities and getting to see different B&M's. Well today I am in Cinci for the night and decided to check out the shop up the street. It is a tobacco outlet not a cigar store but does have a walk-in. I look around not seeing anythig but I am surprised at the selection. Alot of nice smokes at great prices but no fuentes. Oh well I walk out of the humi and my buddy points me to another humi that has the fuentes. I scour them looking for some anjeo's nothing. Alas what is that full box on the top shelf. WOAM'S.

Not containing myself I greedly reached up and snatched the whole box and walked to the cashier. She rang me up at 7.25 a piece. I asked her to ask her boss if he had any anjeos. BIG mistake she gets off the phone and says no and that there is a limit of five WOAM's. SHIT I then start passing out money to my buddies to buy off the box.

Then the guy comes out and put up a sign saying 2 a piece. Oh well I walked with five. I am going back tonight and try to get the whole box again. Then back tomorrow. I am too honest to take the sign off and try. I know that would work because the people behind the counter have no idea about cigars. I just can't do it. Oh well.

Wish me luck

You're a better man than most. When sticks I can't get are the ones in question, I would have to think twice about not taking advantage of the clueless and careless counter staff. That sign has a fifty fifty chance of staying up... If it's payday that is.

Well done Shane. With all of the crap we see around here from time to time you gotta keep the cosmic cigar karma in balance.

...sucks to be so darn honest and nice to deal with, eh Shane...??

Next time, take the WOAM's to the car THEN ask about the Anejo's...!!

Good luck, bud - B.B.S.

So.....how'd it go tonight? I went to my Tobacco Outlet and they had the usual crap. I got to peek at tomorrows incoming shipment and nothing good there either. However the manager told me, "we have Curly Heads coming in tomorrow in maduro"! Ahhhh, no thanks!

What me and BBS have a problem..... HAAAAA how long ago was that. Na I went back after the shift change and only got two more and asked for the box.

" hell we had a guy come in here eralier tryin to buy the whole box. We told him no!!!"

So I am goin back for two tomorrow and askin for the box again.

wish me luck

I stopped by Costso today and paid a visit to the tobacco section.

Asked if they had any cigars, the response was "We still have some Swishers, but we are all out of Backwoods."

Oh well.....

being honest sucks. :p but atleast you are guilt free. :D
Plus, you never know the consequences of being bad. The old instant karma can get ya'.
I now get a high out of doing the right thing - a little endorphin rush

There was a time it worked the other way, though :p

Money talks and bullshit walks!!!!

This is cigars not a Nobel Peace Prize.

Who cares if the box is bought buy an individual or 12 different people.

If the store has a high demand, they should buy more inventory.

Maybe I am insensitive.

That's not necessarily the case in some cigars that are HTF. It's not that the shop would make any more money selling them to multiple people vs just one buyer, but it's the service they offer letting more people have a crack at getting a stick they normally wouldnt be able to find. My local does the same thing with Anejo when they come in, always a limit of 2, just so he can spread the wealth to his customers. I for one appreciate him doing that, of course I'd love to buy the whole box, at least this way I get a couple at a time.

I understand your point 100%. However, cigars is starting to be like fine art. Everything is limited. The industry is going after the "limited" market because they can make a killing. If I can find a good value, I will buy as much as I can. Honestly, I don't care if anybody else can get a certain stick. I would love to find a box of AF Hemmingway WOA Maduro's. Oh well life sucks for me. I love the LFD Chisel Maduro's, but I can only find one online retailer. Oh well, I paid and extra $20 per 10 box. I love the AVO 80th, but they cost $350+. The supply is dwendling, but I can't justify almost $400 for a box. Oh well, life sucks for me. If I had the cash, I would buy 5-10 boxes. Oh well, that would suck for everybody else.

By the way Volusianator, I love your humidors. I wish I had your skills.
