SODIUM CHLORIDE 75.30%
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE 84.34%
POTASSIUM SULFATE 97.30%
I found the above chart. Currently am salt testing my hygro and it is sitting at 68%. The brand of salt I have is Morton Iodized Salt. In the ingredients it says the following...
Salt, calcuim silicate, dextrose and potassium iodide.

Does that mean that my test should be reading 68.86% which means my hygro is spot on?

The first ingredient listed is salt, which we all know is sodium chloride. The potassium iodide is just to iodize the salt and represents a relatively small amount of the ingredients. You should go by the 75% number.

I would agree with Khari. Ingredients are listed from highest amount to lowest. Salt (Sodium Chloride) is first so that is what you should go with.

Will those quantities of added ingredients, including the potassium iodide alter your results? Yes, they will. Will you notice or care? No, you won't unless you need .1% accuracy

At 25-26 hours (was gone for most of the night) RH was 70%

At 12 hours it was 71%

Looks like it is 5% off.

Thanks for the help

Dan
