Humble Arrogance
This was the first Humidor I bought after getting into cigars close to three years ago.
Being in Vegas I knew the dry air and high temps would be an issue, and while researching what Humidor I should get, these little cooling only units seemed to be the new hotness, especially for the price. NewAir has its units, but the heating/cooling function was out of my price range, and the physical footprint of comparable cooling-only units themselves just didn’t fit with anything in my office and living room.
I grabbed the Audew on Amazon on sale for $189 shipped.
It’s gone through a bunch of storage iterations since I seasoned it and loaded it up. Now it’s become my box/aging location and is working out wonderfully.
While I do like it’s cooling capabilities, I’ve found that the dry air here, especially in the winter, causes too much of a fluctuation in RH and so I unplugged it and it’s been holding steady at 69/70% with half the amount of Boveda I had in there previously.
Really great unit, I think they’re called NEEDONE now. There’s been a surge of different names and options out there this past year.
It’s been a solid performer, it’s great for box storage and if I were to grab another one, that is what I would use it for.
Certainly not as exciting as my other two traditional, vintage and storied Humidors, but it’s got some great stuff hiding behind that mirrored glass!
