I was one of the organizers for an all day Christian music festival yesterday. My main function was "Risk Management" since I insured the event but I took on a lot of others tasks during the day.

One of those tasks (and the most fun) was being the escort/bodyguard for the artists while they were backstage and during the "meet and greet".

So who did I have the pleasure of protecting?

The lovely ladies of "Point of Grace"

The first two ladies were a lot of fun. Very down to earth, talkative and friendly. After an hour I felt like they were old friends. They have a huge following among the pre-teen to 17-18yr old female fans and really took time out to talk to the girls and give them some seriously good advice about dating, making smart decisions etc., They had none of the snooty rock star attitude other stars have. (I realize the many of you have probably never heard of Superchick, but in the world of Christian Rock they are huge.)

Point of Grace were pleasant and friendly but much more all business and kept to a strict schedule.

Victoria was funny and friendly and hung out for quite some time.

All in all a great day (although exhausting)

Now it is just too bad that while playing bodyguard you did not have an expandable baton to enforce your christian beliefs upon others.

Edited for poor spelling.

Ahhh Superchick, I didn't know they were still around. They made it big when my little sister was in Jr. High, the whole "girl power" thing came out in full force. Too bad you didn't get to play bodyguard to the dudes from Deliriou5? or something!

Not a fan of contemporary Christian music, I spent some time researching if Rock n' Roll is from the Devil.
It turns out, their arguments against Rock n Roll has little to no foundation in Scripture.

Why would a Christian rock band need bodyguards anyways? Do the fans idolize them? :sign:

Must have been an easy day at work. You end up getting paid for having fun.

My link above was most certainly written by a loonie but it is funny to read.
